As the state’s leading supplier of 100% Moroccan Tuberculosis treatments for over 35 years, Pharma 5 has been actively fighting against this disease. Alongside the public authorities, the laboratory is participating in the national efforts to raise awareness and treat this disease, which is still very prevalent in Morocco.
As such, Pharma 5 has patents registered in Morocco, Africa and Europe.
In 1992, the Pharma 5 Laboratory thus put on the market treatments 10 times cheaper than those existing at the time, with the same Quality, Efficacy and Safety as the original treatments.
Since 2013, and in order to combat the increase in resistance, which makes treatment even more difficult, Pharma 5 has also launched the latest generation of medicines with several active ingredients such as RIP-K3® and ERIP-K4®.
What is TUBERCULOSIS?
Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the tuberculosis bacillus (Mycobacterium tuberculosis), which most often affects the lungs. It is transmitted when people with tuberculosis cough up droplets of bronchial secretions.
In a healthy person, Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection is often asymptomatic because the immune system “traps” the bacillus.
How is it transmitted?
Koch’s bacillus is usually present in the family or professional environment of a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis. When coughing or sneezing, the disease is transmitted through the air to a healthy person.
Every 1 untreated patient can contaminate 10 to 15 people in one year.
What are the symptoms?
When it occurs, pulmonary tuberculosis manifests itself as:
The cure
Tuberculosis is a disease that can be treated and cured.
It is estimated that the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis saved 53 million lives worldwide between 2000 and 2016.
In Morocco, diagnosis and treatment are free of charge in all hospitals and health services under the authority of the Ministry of Health.
