A new industrial plant in “Côte d’Ivoire“
According to its development plan in Morocco and abroad, Pharma 5 launched the construction of a new industrial plant in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan.
In December 2017, the Group laid the foundation stone of an industrial unit in Côte d’Ivoire, which will cover an area of 1.5 hectares, with an initial investment of 100 million dirhams allocated to infrastructure and equipment.
This new investment is expected to bring in 200 direct jobs (20% of which management positions) and 2,000 indirect jobs, with a goal to meet the needs of the Ivorian population in medicines at affordable prices.As a first step, this industrial unit will produce drugs in the following 5 therapeutic classes: infectiology, virology, gynecology, analgesia and antibiotic treatment.
With this new facility, the group is also pursuing the goal of producing up to 100 million tablets and 10 million sachets a year.
Subsequently, the aim for this new plant is to develop the export of its medicines to the countries of the sub-region by acting as a regional hub with an effective start planned for 2019.The launch of this new industrial site confirms the African ambitions of the Pharma 5 Group and the excellent friendship, solidarity and cooperation relationship between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire.
